Ski Schools in the Ski Miquel resorts

Bad Gastein

The Bad Gastein School is now our recommended choice in this resort. The school has its own beginner slope, complete with tow which is right by a bar playing lively music while you learn to ski. The English speaking staff take all levels of skier, even offering excellent off piste expeditions - 4 hours per day for 6 days for standard lessons, approximately £80.

Ski Miquel guests will often hire an instructor for the whole week and make up their own private groups using this instructor. An added bonus is that, thanks to the liaison with Ski Miquel guides, the instructor can bring the group to the lunch time mountain hut and there swap over groups, so ensuring that particular lessons are of the right length. In addition the instructor will often visit the chalet-hotel Tannenburg on the day of arrival to discuss guest’s needs and requirements for instruction. Ski Miquel does have an excellent close working relationship with the Bad Gastein Ski School, which the company does strongly recommend.

Alpe d'Huez

Ecole du Ski Francais is an excellent ski school in the resort for all standards of skier, all taught in English.

Lesson are 2 1/2 hours per day for 6 days, prices at approximately £52, bookable in resort.

For private lessons or small groups we recommend Stuart Adamsons & Mel Mallen,s Masterclass. This is an English ski school based in Alpe D'Huez, that is fully licenced to teach in France. Stuart & Mel visit the Chalet-Hotel Bel Alpe on the first evening of your holiday where you can discuss your requirements with him after the welcome meeting. This school is fully recommended and has been very well received by our guests over a number of years.

To contract Mel (0033615462428) or sand.dancer3@libertysurf.fr
To contact Stuart (003476809383) or stuartadamson.masterclass@freebee.fr

Or Visit the Master Class Website

The hiring of high mountain guide is strongly recommended if you want to explore the off piste skiing safely. No need to be a fantastic skier providing you can ski a red run comfortably, you will have a very enjoyable and and unforgettable day. There is immense off piste opportunities behind Pic Blanc, you can even use a helicopter to get in even more runs and the cost of this can be as little as £30.

A group of 6 spreading the cost for the day, comes out at about £25 each - strongly recommended.

Serre Chevalier

EurekaSKI has an impressive reputation in the valley for instruction using a style ideal for modern equipment. Director Gavin Crosby, a skier so well qualified that even the French can't stop him working, offers British ski coaching to all our guests. Gavin has earned an excellent reputation with guests, progressing beginners faster than most schools, getting intermediates off that plateau and making a significant contribution to the technique of even the best skiers. It is recommended that you pre-book on info@eurekaski.com although Gavin does visit the chalet-hotel Charlotte on Saturday evening.

Book directly at EurekaSKI 0033 (0)6 79 46 24 84. email info@eurekaski.co or visit his website at www.eurekaski.com.

We also recommend an off piste expedition with a senior instructor or an off piste guide for the vast off piste terrain adjacent to the lifts or alternatively visiting La Grave, the worlds number one off piste resort. For a visit here we strongly recommend a fully qualified mountain guide.

Lauterbrunnen

Ski Miquel recommend both the excellent ski schools of Wengen and Murren. Our Resort Manager will advise which school should be most suitable for particular guests as each is slightly different. It is easy for friends to meet up with those who are in school as they are both well located.

Baqueira

Groups will never be more than 8 and offer an excellent quality of instruction leaving you plenty of time for free skiing or guiding. 3 sessions of 2 hours for £52. Guests wanting to use Ski Miquel ski school are strongly advised to pre book so as to ensure they get the priority choice for arranging lesson times and groups.

Whistler

The Whistler/Blackcomb Dual Mountain Ski School offer expert friendly instruction for all levels of skiers and the Ski Espirit programme is partiuclarly effective. Many of our guests rate instruction in Whistler as some of the best they have experienced, remember they are teaching in their own native tongue, English!

You can choose a whole variety of possibilities including 3 days of guided instruction, with video analysis, race training and at the end of the week race, mountain picnic and an awards apres ski party! 3 days costs approximately £126. Another good option is a Dave Murray racing clinic, where even the guests who consider themselves to be swift skiers were transformed at the end of this course.
