SKI SCHOOLS IN SKI MIQUEL RESORTS

Serre Chevalier

New Generation Serre Chevalier is a small and friendly ski school run by British coach Gavin Crosby (Gavin has been working very closely with Ski Miquel for 10 years). New Generation instructors are some of the most highly qualified ski teachers in the Alps. All instructors hold full French equivalence which means they can teach all levels from beginner to off-piste expert! Many of their instructors, including Gavin, are also BASI [British Association of Snowsport Instructors] trainers. Gavin visits the Ski Miquel chalets on Saturday night but we do urge you to pre-book as the instructors' schedules fill up quickly!

The ski school in Baqueira has now become well established. The beginners slopes are located just at the top of the first chair lift, one that you use without having to put your skis on and have proved to be wide, gentle and very snow sure, ideal of beginners and skiers who are just getting going. Guests wanting to use Ski Miquel ski school are strongly advised to pre book so as to ensure they get the priority choice for arranging lesson times and groups.

Bad Gastein

The Bad Gastein School is now our recommended choice in this resort. The school has its own beginner slope, complete with tow which is right by a bar playing lively music while you learn to ski. The English speaking staff take all levels of skier, even offering excellent off piste expeditions - 4 hours per day for 6 days for standard lessons, approximately £80.

Ski Miquel guests will often hire an instructor for the whole week and make up their own private groups using this instructor. An added bonus is that, thanks to the liaison with Ski Miquel guides, the instructor can bring the group to the lunch time mountain hut and there swap over groups, so ensuring that particular lessons are of the right length. In addition the instructor will often visit the chalet-hotel Tannenburg on the day of arrival to discuss guest’s needs and requirements for instruction. Ski Miquel does have an excellent close working relationship with the Bad Gastein Ski School, which the company does strongly recommend
