ALPINE SKIING

Truely alpine scale with nearly 3,300 vertical and an enviable snow record makes this resort a real alternative. Spanish prices complete the case! The piste maintenance and canon cover are up to North American standard, each morning ski a carpet.

However if you prefer things a little sharper the Luis Arrias, Tubonero and above all the Esconrnacabres will lift the adrenalin level. The new area of Bassibe is very interesting.

Lifts are state of the art, a selection of three, four detachable chairs and two six seater's eliminate queing as well as the gondola from the village. In this resort staff do help you both on and off the lifts, maintenance and security are at the highest possible level.

The apparent size of 115 kms pisted runs significantly under estimates the availability of skiing as there are many interesting variations of the actual runs all within the ski domain. These are well skied and so its like being on a piste, but offer you new and varied challenging terrain. The majority of the area within the ski boundary is skiable. Most years the resort has closed in the first weekend in May!

A very different resort combining the open easy welcome of the Spanish with world class mountain management.
The result is queue-free lifts with superb piste preparation that is indeed fit for the King!

The Spring skiing is particular good, this year it will be even better with a new high bowl being opened.

Many new lifts have been opened over the last few years significantly expanding this already world class resort.

OFF PISTE

The cheapest heliskiing in Europe! You can get two runs for the price of one ride in a helicopter. Ski down the North face of the Dossau to the deserted village of Mongarri then be flown across by helicopter to the mountain opposite Beret for your second descent. Cost around £50.

There are many off piste variations beyond the Argulls, yet you return to the Bonaigua.

THE VILLAGE
It is a purpose built resort, yet a fitting rustic style with the more recent buildings being more attractive, of course all accommodation is near the lifts.

All services and entertainment is provided. Try the excellent tapas bars (Rioja £3 a bottle) or the two late starting clubs. The restaurants are used to meeting the demands of the well heeled from Barcelona and Madrid so combine excellent service and quality with very reasonable prices. Remember this is Spanish pricing
