The Skiing

The Saalbach ski area is one of the most effective linked large lift systems in Austria. The skiing is completely interlinked except for having to cross the road to the Hochalmbahn gondola.

Many guests, new to Austria skiing, have been very impressed with the lack of queues and lift quality compared to France.

The slopes face both North and South so it's easy for the Ski Miquel ski guides to choose an area to suit the conditions as well as terrain to suite the group.

The investment in new lifts has been significant over the last few years. This winter three lifts are being replaced by bigger faster lifts with good weather protection. Saalbach's skier experience becomes even more comfortable!

The runs are often wide and always well groomed however a good selection of challenging blacks and itinerary runs provide a good selection for the stronger skier. The north face of the Zwolferkogel run with its tough variations needs to be on the list of good skiers.

The famous Ski Circus is a long circular tour in either direction that can be enjoyed without having to ski tough runs. It really does not matter where you finish as the free valley bus service is very convenient and stops close to the Christina.

The resort has consistently good snow including resort level skiing at Easter,  this photo is from April 09. The huge snow making capacity ensures a good pre Christmas start and a deep base that lasts until the resort closes.
